Please be advised that the Fred Nichols Campus Centre (FNCC) building will be closed for operations during the spring and summer of 2026 to accommodate the Air Handling Unit (AHU) Replacement Project. Construction is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed by mid-August 2026.
During this period, there will be no cooling or air circulation in the building. The impacted building occupants have been contacted, and alternate arrangements are underway. If your occupancy needs have not been addressed, please contact Nehro Ali at neali@wlu.ca or 365.998.1511.
Users requiring brief or temporary access to the building during construction must coordinate access in advance with the on-site contractor or SCS after hours. The contact information for on-site personnel will be communicated and posted at building entrances prior to project initiation.
Please note that the large Turret Event space (Rm 305) on the third floor of the building will remain operational during this period, as it is served by a separate AHU. However, ongoing construction activities in the mechanical room behind the Turret, as well as the AHU replacement work, will result in construction noise.
Further details will be shared once the contractor has been selected and the project scope finalized in early 2026.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we complete this essential infrastructure renewal project.
We ask that you please follow and respect all signage and barriers that will be in place. For further information please contact Nehro Ali at neali@wlu.ca or 365.998.1511.
