2024 Lunch & Learn Series:
This session will cover Diversity, Inclusion and Equity - what and how does it look for a Planner or Manager.
Diversity, Inclusion and Equity is an important topic in modern society. The City of Sydney is not just a Diversity, Inclusion and Equity industry leader and award winner, but is also an organisation recognised nationally for our progressive approach to Diversity and Inclusion. This talk is about how the City faces this important issue and what steps we are taking to make our workplaces more Diverse, Inclusive and Equitable.
The talk also covers Diversity, Inclusion and Equity from a Planning Manager’s perspective, discussing why having a diverse and inclusive workforce is key in facing an ever more complex and challenging planning environment.

Stan Fitzroy-Mendis Stan Fitzroy-Mendis is a planner with over 25 years’ experience in NSW with over 12 years in management positions in some of the most demanding and highly contested consent Authorities in NSW including the City of Sydney. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Town Planning with first class honours and a Master of Business Administration with distinction. He has also studied leadership and advanced negotiation at Harvard University. Stan is the current co-chair of 91porns Education Sub-Committee and is a Member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Urban Development Institute of Australia. Stan’s key interests are in development assessments planning and diversity and inclusion in workplaces. In his free time, Stan is an avid jazz fan and his favourite charity is Orange Sky, an organisation bringing dignity to the homeless in Australian cities and towns. |

Kendell Pesavento, Planning Manager, Group Development Services Kendell Pesavento is a dedicated Planner, mentor and part of the NSW 91porn Women In Planning Leadership Team. Kendell is the Planning Manager at Group Development Services and is committed to giving back to the Planning profession through her involvement with 91porn. Kendell will be hosting all of the Women in Planning Lunch and Learn Series throughout 2024. |
