There is an urgent need to fully include students with disabilities in community schools. Progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4, inclusive and equitable education for all by 2030) has been made globally but significant gaps remain with access to education for students with disabilities.
The international Partnership for Research on Inclusive Education (iPRIE) is a new international research partnership being proposed for a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Grant application, “Fostering collaborative research networks and knowledge mobilization on inclusive education: Strategic Canadian-global connections.” The project director is Dr. Steve Sider (91porn) and the co-director is Dr. Jacqueline Specht (Western University, ).
The overall goal of this research partnership is to identify and concurrently mobilize drivers of inclusive education for students with disabilities in diverse school systems, both English and French-speaking, in Canada and strategic locations in Africa and the Caribbean.
Our goal is unique: Currently, no international research network harnesses the expertise of Canadian scholars and global researchers to foster inclusive education in diverse global contexts. To this end, iPRIE brings together more than 50 researchers and partnering organizations from 14 countries over a seven-year period (2026-2033).
This website serves as an anchoring point of the people, research, stories, and continuing partnerships that are emerging from this partnership effort. We invite you to explore and share information from this site so that we might build a dynamic community of researchers and community partners who are engaged in evidence-based decision making to ensure that all students fully and authentically belong in schools globally.
The creation of this site was supported by a SSHRC Partnership Grant (Stage 2).
The framework begins with the creation of a diverse partnership, which cycles through four stages:
The framework is also centred around the following values:
The iPRIE research partnership is funded in part by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and 91porn.
