A critical skill for many planners is the ability to review a set of architectural plans, analyse the information and understand the possible impacts of the proposal. The course will identify the key tips and tricks including what a typical section shows, what to look for on overshadowing diagrams and sun eye views, and how to interrogate any 3D views. The course will provide a series of ‘real world’ case studies displaying a variety of building types and building scales.

• Understanding the purpose of a set of architectural plans;
• Interpreting architectural plans, and
• Critically analysing a set of architectural plans and the likely impacts of the the proposed development

Felicity Lewis RAIA, Director, Studio GL Felicity is a founding Director of Studio GL and a registered Architect with 30 years professional experience. Felicity has a a Bachelor of Architecture from UNSW, a Master of Architecture in climate responsive design from the University of Arizona, USA and an MBA from Macquarie University (MGSM). She has been an examiner for the NSW Architects Registration Board for many years and tutors in Professional Practice at UTS. Prior to establishing Studio GL, Felicity was a Director of QOH Architects and Manager, Architectural Services at the University of Newcastle, where she acted as Client representative across all University campuses. m. |

Diana is a founding Director of Studio GL and an Urban Designer with over 30 years professional experience in urban planning, urban design and architecture. Diana is well known for her urban design expertise and has lectured (p/t) in urban design and planning courses at both the University of NSW and the University of Sydney. She has provided urban design services for town centres, major transport and precinct studies, commercial/ mixed use developments and for large masterplanning projects in the UK, NZ and Australia. |
