2024 QLD PLANET | Neighbourhoods and Precinct Planning
This half-day course is designed to provide an overview of planning for neighbourhoods and precincts; it is designed for planners and non-planners. It will cover the context and role of neighbourhood and precinct scale planning, associated planning processes, community and stakeholder engagement, statutory drafting and implementation.
The course covers the following topics:
- Context of neighbourhood and precinct scale planning;
- From vision to implementation - key steps in neighbourhood and precinct planning;
- Community and stakeholder engagement methods and techniques;
- Statutory drafting; and
- Implementing neighbourhood and precinct scale plans
Designed for:
People who would like a better understanding of neighbourhood and precinct planning processes and would like to learn through practical examples. This event is designed for planners, allied professionals, and students.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of the course attendees will be able to:
- understand the role of neighbourhood and precinct scale planning;
- understand how to develop a neighbourhood plan or precinct plan;
- understand and apply techniques for engaging stakeholders and the community in neighbourhood and precinct planning projects; and
- understand how neighbourhood or precinct scale plans may be implemented.
