Planning with Integrity: the Role of Ethics in Planning Practice
Donna Ferretti will explore the way ethical and integrity issues in planning are produced, thought about and brought into effect and how this shapes the development of strategic planning policy, assessment of development and engagement of community and stakeholder interests.
About
This course provides an understanding of the ethical issues surrounding the planning and management of urban and non-urban environments. It is an abridged version of a full-day course which explores the way ethical and integrity issues in planning are produced, thought about and brought into effect and how this shapes the development of strategic planning policy, assessment of development and engagement of community and stakeholder interests. The course will draw attention to a notion of ethics that goes beyond conflict of interest and professional conduct matters to critically examine how certain planning knowledges assume ascendency over others and how the behaviour of planners is shaped through a range of sites both within and outside of the profession.
