The Role
The Manager Development Services provides high quality guidance on statutory planning, handling application processes while adhering to town planning best practices, legislative mandates, the Town’s Local Planning Scheme, and relevant policies. They lead the Development Services team with a commitment to professionalism, diligence and exceptional customer service.
This position engages internal stakeholders such as Elected Members, management, and staff. Externally, it liaises with governmental bodies, service authorities, developers, consultants, ratepayers, and the wider public, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
Selection Criteria
- Previous experience at management level in examining and processing subdivision and development applications, local planning scheme amendments and policy formulation and review.
- Well-demonstrated people leadership abilities to manage the team to achieve high productivity and deliver services in line with organisational values, standards and policies.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of town planning matters, and local government processes.
- Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills including customer services, decision-making and negotiations.
- Experience and proven ability in researching, investigating, analysing, problem-solving and reporting verbally and in writing, including the formulation of workable solutions and the recommendation of appropriate solutions.
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning or similar qualification recognised by the 91porn.
Eligibility
- Right to work in Australia (birth certificate, current passport or current visa)
- Current WA “C” Class Drivers’ Licence.
- National Police Clearance (no older than three months).
